"I'm free years ol today!"

Today is Sarah's birthday! Here is a photo of her on the bike she got from Mama, Daddy, and big brother. She is soooo proud to finally have a bike like big brother. Even though she is having a birthday party, we wanted to celebrate in our own way at home on her day. Daddy came home at lunch so he could see her face when she got it. Then, the kids rode bikes and played outside for a while this afternoon. Afterwards, we made cupcakes with sprinkles--her favorite. Tonight on the phone she told Grandma, "I'm free years ol today!"

Happy Birthday Sarah!

Our little girl is turning 3 this week! It seems like only yesterday that she was born and we were holding this tiny little baby in our arms. She was wrapped head to toe in pink! In some ways the past three years have flown by, and other ways, time has stood still. She is a wonderful, beautiful, sweet little girlie girl, and is getting big enough to hold her own with big brother! Sarah loves all things pink and girlie, and really enjoys dressing up and putting on lipstick. But, she also loves to do everything brother does including driving the tractor and playing trains. She has such a vibrant personality with a great sense of humor. Happy Birthday Sarah Grace!

Ho Ho Ho!

The kids went to see Santa recently, and apparently, the third time was the charm with Sarah. After two years straight of her crying and being totally petrified of Santa, this year she was calm and cool and they all had fun! We FINALLY got a good picture of both kids with Santa. I couldn't wait to share it! I also bought the package with the digital image, so I've been printing lots of copies. Of course, the picture doesn't tell the whole story. When she first sat down in his lap, she started whining and looking at me like, "What are you doing to me!?", but after a few minutes of Mommy reassuring her, and with a little help from the squeaky puppet, somehow she realized it was OK. Whew!

Hurricanes and Stingrays

We recently took a family trip to Fort Walton Beach, Florida. We had to leave a day late because Trevor had two soccer make up games scheduled at the last minute. So, we left on Sunday instead of Saturday, as we had planned. After an endless car trip on Sunday, we learned that a hurricane was headed right for the gulf. Thankfully, it ended up weakening to a tropical storm--which was still a little scary for Mom--and we only missed about a day and a half of beach time. The kids actually got to play on the beach for half a day on the first full day we were there (thank goodness) and then we had 3 more beautiful days after the rain and wind moved out. All in all, it was a good trip, and we have lots of photos and memories to cherish. One of the funniest things that happened is that Trevor helped catch a stingray while the guys were fishing off the pier! Don't have a photo of that one, but Jody managed to get video of it. The kids also built sand castles, saw a crab, and got to see a sea turtle and dolphins. Trevor couldn't wait to get back and tell his class and Mrs. Kie about his trip!

Soccer season ends

Trevor was so excited to get his soccer trophy after their last game!
